Sign-in sheet template: fill in and print

The short answer

A sign-in sheet needs a header with the event or location and the date, then columns for each person’s name and whatever else you need, such as email, phone, time in and out, or a signature. Pick what it’s for below, add your details and choose the number of lines. Then print it or save the PDF. It’s free, with no sign-up.

Choose what it’s for and the columns follow. Print a stack, and keep the signed copies somewhere you can find them.

Keeping it useful

  • Put it where people have to walk past it, with a pen on a string.
  • Date every sheet, and start a new one each day or event.
  • Asking for an email to follow up? Say so at the top, and only send what you said you would.
  • Sign-in sheets show other people’s details, so anything sensitive shouldn’t go on one.

Tracking paid hours rather than who came? Use a timesheet. Running a meeting? Make an agenda to go with it.

Common questions

How do I make my own sign-in sheet?
Choose what it’s for above, add your business and the date, and set the number of lines. Then print it or save the PDF.
What should a sign-in sheet include?
The event or location and date at the top, then each person’s name, plus what you’ll need afterward: contact details, time in and out, or a signature.
Does Excel have a sign-in sheet template?
Excel and Word both have them in their template galleries. This one isn’t a spreadsheet: you set it up here and print it, with nothing to install. Choose Excel if you want to type names in later and keep them in one file.
How do I make a sign-in sheet in Word?
Insert a table with one column per item and about 20 rows, add a header with the date, and print. Or set one up here and save it as a PDF, which takes less time.
What’s the difference between a sign-in and a sign-up sheet?
A sign-in sheet records who came. A sign-up sheet records who plans to come, often with time slots. The event version here works for both, as long as you add the slot to the top.
Is this template free?
Yes. No sign-up and no watermark. It runs in your browser, so nothing you type is stored or sent to us. Print it or save it as a PDF before you close the page.
