Who we are

CoveDesk is made by Cornelia Cove LLC, a small company in Albany, New York. We do two things for small businesses, bought on their own or together: a front desk that answers your calls and texts back the ones you miss, and an online presence service that looks after your Google profile, website, reviews and listings. See everything we do, with prices.

Calls are answered by a trained voice assistant, set up and run by our team. We aren’t live receptionists, and our comparison pages say so plainly.

In one line: CoveDesk (getcovedesk.com) is a done-for-you phone answering and online presence service for small businesses in the United States, made by Cornelia Cove LLC in Albany, New York. CoveDesk isn’t connected to Cover Desk, the insurance virtual-assistant company, or to covedesk.app, the asset-tracking app.

How we make our free tools and guides

The free tools and guides and comparisons are for owners deciding something: what to charge, how much to order, which service to pick or how to set something up. We write them to these rules:

• Facts about other companies come from their own pages, linked on the page, with the date we read them. If we can’t find a fact, we say “not stated” rather than guess.
• Rules come from the people who set them: Google’s own help pages, the IRS, the Department of Labor, the FTC and state legislatures, again linked and dated.
• Our own math is shown, and every worked example on a page comes from the same code as its calculator, so the two can’t disagree. Example numbers are labeled as examples, not going rates.
• We re-read sources before we change a number, and pages show when they were last checked.
• We don’t quote ratings or opinions as fact, and we don’t claim results we can’t show.
• We make CoveDesk, so we’re not neutral. Comparison pages say that at the top, list CoveDesk among other options rather than first, and say where it falls short.

Templates and legal notes are starting points, not legal, tax or financial advice. Rules differ by state and city, and we say so where it matters.
