Goodcall alternatives and pricing

The short answer

Goodcall charges $79, $129 or $299 a month for 100, 500 or 2,000 unique customers, not minutes, so one number calling five times counts once. Extra customers cost 79, 26 or 15 cents. Rosie and Dialzara bill by the minute, Upfirst by the call, and RingReady is flat. Smith.ai adds live agents, and CoveDesk is set up and run for you.

Goodcall counts people, not minutes: one phone number is one unique customer for the month, however many times it calls and however long it talks. Here’s what that costs on its own numbers, how it stacks up with CoveDesk, and who else to look at.

Updated November 3, 2026. CoveDesk is one of the services on this page; other companies’ prices and features are from their own websites, linked below.

Goodcall alternatives, by what you need

  • Rosie: Publishes its own comparison with Goodcall. It counts minutes instead of callers, includes Spanish on every call and has help articles for Jobber and Housecall Pro. From $49/month: 250 minutes, as published.
  • Dialzara: Plain per-minute plans with a listed rate for extra minutes, if you’d rather count minutes than callers. From $29/month: 60 minutes, as published.
  • CoveDesk (that’s us): if you want calls picked up, missed callers texted, and your Google profile and website looked after, all set up and run for you. Not live receptionists. Front Desk is $249/mo with 250 minutes. Free 14-day pilot.
  • Upfirst: Counts calls rather than callers, skips calls under 15 seconds, and sends missed callers a text on its own. From $24.95/month: 30 calls, as published.
  • RingReady: One flat price with unlimited calls, so a busy month of new callers doesn’t change the bill. From $49/month: unlimited calls and minutes, as published.
  • Smith.ai: Lets you mix software and live agents by type of call, for the calls you’d want a person on. From $0/month: 25 calls answered by software, as published.
  • Allo: A phone system for your team with a receptionist add-on, if you also want shared calls and texts in one place. From $15/seat/month: One person, as published.

Goodcall pricing

Goodcall plans, as published on its pricing page (opens in a new tab) on November 3, 2026
PlanPriceIncludesExtra use
Starter$79/month100 unique customers (about 150 calls by its count), 5 workers, 1 outside tool79 cents per extra unique customer
Growth$129/month500 unique customers (about 750 calls by its count), 10 workers, 5 outside tools26 cents per extra unique customer
Scale$299/month2,000 unique customers (about 3,000 calls by its count), 20 workers, 15 outside tools15 cents per extra unique customer

The price follows unique customers, not minutes, and each plan comes with a set number of workers. An extra customer costs the same as an included one, so $79 for 100 is 79 cents each, $129 for 500 is about 26 cents, and $299 for 2,000 is about 15 cents. Past 2,000 customers a month, Enterprise is by quote. A local number is included. Test runs use a separate allowance, with top-ups at $5.

Stay with Goodcall if

  • Your callers talk a long time. Call length never changes Goodcall’s bill, and repeat callers count once. CoveDesk counts the seconds your calls use.
  • You want bookings made during the call. It reads your calendar, offers open times and texts the details. CoveDesk writes the details down so you can call back.
  • Urgent calls need more than one person to try. It retries busy lines and works through up to three escalation contacts. With CoveDesk an urgent call goes to the owner, and there’s no on-call rotation yet.
  • You’d like to hear it before paying. A free demo agent costs nothing until you connect a number. CoveDesk’s free 14-day pilot starts with a talk with our team, since we set it up for you.

What does Goodcall cost at your number of callers?

Worked from its published prices, on the lowest-priced plan for each size. Count different phone numbers, not calls. Goodcall’s own conversion is about 1.5 calls per customer.

  • 100 different callers. $79 on Starter.
  • 150. $118.50: Starter plus 50 extras at 79 cents.
  • 163. $128.77, the last size where Starter is lower than Growth.
  • 500. $129 on Growth.
  • 800. $207: Growth plus 300 extras at 26 cents.
  • 1,154 and up. $299 on Scale is the lower price, up to 2,000 callers.

Why owners look past Goodcall

  • Lots of one-time callers. The bill follows different phone numbers, so a month of new callers costs more than a month of regulars. On Starter, 130 different callers comes to $102.70: $79 plus 30 extras at 79 cents.
  • You’re the builder. You make the agent by telling Gabi, its in-app assistant, what to change, then you test and publish it. Onboarding is listed for Enterprise, and its pages don’t say whether staff help with the first agent on smaller plans.
  • Texts only go out. Its FAQ says the agent can send a confirmation or a link but can’t receive replies yet, and a missed-call text isn’t mentioned on its site.
  • Job software and Spanish. Jobber, ServiceTitan and Housecall Pro aren’t named, and outside tools are capped by plan. Its own pages disagree on Spanish, so ask before you count on it.

Where CoveDesk is different

  • There’s nothing to build. Our team sets it up and runs it in your business’s name, so you don’t have to learn how to instruct an agent.
  • It covers the missed call too. Missed-call texts are included in Front Desk, and Google profile care and websites are done for you at extra cost or in the Front Office plan. Goodcall’s pages don’t describe those.
  • What you give up. Calendar booking, a list of escalation contacts and a demo you can try alone. Callers hear a short notice when the call starts.

Switching from Goodcall

Before you cancel anything, forward your calls to the new service and make three test calls of your own: a new customer, an urgent problem and a wrong number.

How we checked this

We make CoveDesk, so we’re not neutral, and this page isn’t a review. Everything about Goodcall comes from its own website, read on November 3, 2026, with the pages linked below. We haven’t bought its service, and we don’t quote ratings or anyone’s opinion as fact. Where we couldn’t find a fact, we say so instead of guessing, and “not mentioned” means not on the pages we read, which isn’t a search of its whole site.

Common questions

How does Goodcall work?
You build a free demo agent by telling Gabi, its in-app assistant, about your business, then test it. When you connect a phone number and choose a plan, it answers around the clock, can book, transfer or take a message, and you pay by unique customers a month.
How much does Goodcall cost a month?
On November 3, 2026 its pricing page listed Starter at $79 a month for 100 unique customers, Growth at $129 for 500 and Scale at $299 for 2,000. Extra customers cost 79, 26 or 15 cents by plan. Each plan includes a set number of workers. There’s no setup fee, and Enterprise is by quote.
What counts as a unique customer on Goodcall?
One phone number, once a month. Call five times or fifty and it’s still one, and spam and wrong numbers don’t count. Goodcall’s own conversion puts 100 customers at about 150 calls, so the fit depends on how often the same people call you.
What’s the difference between Goodcall and Rosie?
Goodcall bills per unique customer and call length doesn’t matter. Rosie bills by included minutes, and states English and Spanish on every call and lists help articles for job software such as Jobber. Goodcall names Google Calendar, HighLevel and Zapier, and tries up to three contacts on an escalation.
Can I keep my number if I leave Goodcall?
Your own business number, yes. It stays with your phone company, and forwarding is a setting you turn off. The Goodcall number itself is released when you downgrade, and its FAQ doesn’t describe taking that one with you, so think twice before printing it on anything.
How do I cancel Goodcall?
In the app, go to Settings, then Billing, open your agent’s menu and schedule a downgrade to the demo. It takes effect at the end of the billing period and you aren’t charged again. Its terms call payments final but say you may request a refund for the current month.
Is CoveDesk a live receptionist service?
No. CoveDesk is a phone answering service: a trained voice assistant, set up and run by our team, that picks up in your business’s name at any hour. Callers hear a short notice at the start of the call.
