Jobber vs Housecall Pro: plans and prices side by side
The short answer
For one user billed annually, Jobber Core is $29 a month and Housecall Pro Basic is $59. For five users, Jobber Connect is $149 and Grow is $229, while Housecall Pro Essentials is $149. Housecall Pro Max is $299 for eight users. Jobber lists a $29 a month receptionist add-on; Housecall Pro lists call answering add-ons without a public price.
Both are job software for home service businesses, and both say they serve over 50 kinds of them. The clearest way to compare them is by how many people will log in, so here’s each company’s published pricing at that size.
Updated November 5, 2026. We make CoveDesk, a phone answering service, and we don’t sell job software. What this page says about each company comes from its own website, linked below.

Jobber also lists a third price, for a one-year commitment paid monthly. Housecall Pro’s page shows first-month and first-three-month promotions, which we’ve left out because they end. Features differ by plan, so these prices aren’t like for like: open each page to see what’s included.
What each does about phone calls
- Jobber: a receptionist add-on at $29 a month, included in Plus. Two-way texting is described as part of Grow and above.
- Housecall Pro: add-ons that answer calls and manage call flows. Its pricing page shows placeholders rather than prices, so ask for a quote.
Both are worth asking about if you already use the software. Look at what happens when a caller needs something unusual, and who sets it up. See how the add-ons compare in our Jobber receptionist and Housecall Pro pages.
How to choose
- Count who needs a login. It decides the plan, and both charge for extra people.
- List the three things you need first. Scheduling, quotes and getting paid are usually enough to start.
- Try both. Each offers a free trial, so run a real week of jobs through them.
- Check your other tools, such as accounting and payroll.
- Price the whole year on the billing you’ll actually use.
Neither one has to be replaced to add phone answering. CoveDesk works alongside your job software.
