ServiceForge alternatives and pricing

The short answer

ServiceForge is a live answering service for trade contractors, from $349 a month for 200 minutes. It advertises no contracts, but its terms set a 90-day minimum. Its free booking and payments plan doesn’t include answering. Alternatives include PATLive, Abby Connect and MAP Communications for live receptionists, Housecall Pro for job software with answering add-ons, and CoveDesk, a voice assistant run for you.

ServiceForge, at serviceforge.com, is a live answering service and booking platform for HVAC, plumbing, roofing, electrical and restoration contractors. Here’s what it charges and where those figures come from, the side-by-side with CoveDesk, and which other answering services to look at.

Updated November 3, 2026. CoveDesk is one of the services on this page; other companies’ prices and features are from their own websites, linked below.

Taken as listed, that’s about $1.75 a minute at 200 minutes, $1.30 at 300 and $1.34 from 500 up, and the 300-minute plan is $40 more than the 200. No rate for extra minutes is listed. Stay with ServiceForge if

  • You also want booking and payments. The free plan gives you a booking page, scheduling, payments and an app with no card, and customers can book themselves at any hour. CoveDesk doesn’t take payments or book jobs.
  • Calls should turn into jobs on your calendar. Agents apply your rules for membership, warranty, zone and tech skill before scheduling. CoveDesk takes the details so you can call back.
  • You need Spanish included. Every live answering plan covers English and Spanish. CoveDesk has no Spanish yet.
  • You run on job software. It names ServiceTitan, Jobber, Housecall Pro and FieldEdge as free integrations. CoveDesk has no job software connection yet.

What does ServiceForge’s 90-day minimum add up to?

Its HVAC page advertises no contracts, and its information page adds cancelling anytime. Its terms of service (opens in a new tab) keep the agreement in effect for at least 90 calendar days and bill each whole or partial month. At its listed prices, that’s about three monthly charges before you can leave:

  • 200 minutes. Three months at $349 is $1,047.
  • 300 minutes. Three months at $389 is $1,167.
  • 500 minutes. Three months at $669 is $2,007.

Those totals leave out extra minutes, whose rate isn’t published. Ask ServiceForge which wording applies to you, and get the answer in writing.

What the same month costs

Worked out from each company’s published list prices: the cheapest plan or plan plus extras that covers the month, lowest first at 250 minutes. For companies that bill by the call we count one call as 2.5 minutes, which is the ratio PATLive’s own pages use. These are our sums, not quotes, and they leave out tax and one-time fees.

Why owners look past ServiceForge

  • No contracts, except the minimum. Its HVAC page says no contracts and its information page says cancel anytime, while its terms set a minimum of 90 calendar days. At 200 minutes that’s about $1,047 before you can leave.
  • Prices are scattered. Its homepage gives one tier, its pricing page wants your details, and the rest sit on an information page written for software. You may want a written quote before relying on any of them.
  • No extra-minute rate. Go past 200 minutes in a busy month and nothing published says what you’ll pay. PATLive charges the same at 200 minutes and lists its rate.
  • Partial minutes round up. Its terms bill whole minutes, and count hold time and connecting a caller. One page does list spam blocking as a feature.
  • The free plan isn’t answering. $0 gets you booking, scheduling and payments. Picking up the phone is the paid part.
  • It’s written for trades. If you run a salon, a law office or a shop, Ruby and Posh speak to a wider range of owners.

Where CoveDesk is different

  • Not only for contractors. CoveDesk works with small businesses of all kinds, where ServiceForge’s pages speak to the trades.
  • How use is counted is stated. Seconds add up across the month and round once, and the Front Desk price and minutes are on this page.
  • A guarantee in writing. No setup fee, month to month, and 30 days to get your money back. ServiceForge also advertises free setup, but its terms set a 90-day minimum and its site doesn’t state a guarantee.
  • Your profile and website. Missed-call texts come with Front Desk, and our team can run your Google profile and website. ServiceForge’s free booking page is the nearest thing it describes.
  • What you give up. People, dispatch to an on-call team, jobs on the calendar and Spanish. A voice assistant answers, callers get a short notice, and urgent calls come to you.

Switching from ServiceForge

Before you cancel anything, forward your calls to the new service and make three test calls of your own: a new customer, an urgent problem and a wrong number.

How we checked this

We make CoveDesk, so we’re not neutral, and this page isn’t a review. Everything about ServiceForge comes from its own website, read on November 3, 2026, with the pages linked below. We haven’t bought its service, and we don’t quote ratings or anyone’s opinion as fact. Where we couldn’t find a fact, we say so instead of guessing, and “not mentioned” means not on the pages we read, which isn’t a search of its whole site.

Common questions

What is ServiceForge?
The company at serviceforge.com sells 24/7 live answering by U.S.-based people to trade and home-service contractors, along with a free booking page, scheduling and payments. Software from other companies uses a similar name, so check the web address when you compare.
How much does ServiceForge cost?
Booking, scheduling and payments are free. Live answering is $349 a month for 200 minutes on its homepage. Its information page also lists $389 for 300, $669 for 500, $1,069 for 800 and $1,339 for 1,000. It doesn’t list a rate for extra minutes.
Does ServiceForge’s free plan answer my calls?
No. The free plan covers the booking page, scheduling, payments and the mobile app, with no card required. Live answering is a paid plan you can add later. It doesn’t state a free trial of the answering itself.
How do I cancel ServiceForge?
Its information page says cancel anytime. Its terms set a 90-day minimum, then let either side end the agreement with written notice, and each whole or partial month is billed. So send written notice, and ask for confirmation of your end date. No money-back guarantee turned up on the pages we read.
Is ServiceForge the same company as AnswerForce?
Their terms of service say so. ServiceForge’s and AnswerForce’s each name AnywhereWorks, Inc. as the company doing business under that brand, and so do AnswerConnect’s. The contract wording matches too, including the 90-day minimum, which is why neither appears in the alternatives above.
Does ServiceForge work with Jobber or ServiceTitan?
Its homepage names both, plus Housecall Pro and FieldEdge, as free integrations, and its HVAC page adds Workiz, Salesforce, HubSpot and QuickBooks. It doesn’t say whether each is a direct connection or goes through another tool.
Is CoveDesk a live receptionist service?
No. CoveDesk is a phone answering service: a trained voice assistant, set up and run by our team, that picks up in your business’s name at any hour. Callers hear a short notice at the start of the call.
