How it works
- Write down the vehicle and what the customer reports.
- Diagnose it, and list the parts and labor.
- Get the customer’s approval, with a signature or in writing.
- If you find more, stop and get a new approval.
- Turn it into an invoice.
Keep the approval with your job file. Many states require a written estimate, or a limit on how far the final bill can go over it, so check your state’s rules.
