Google review link generator, with a QR code

The short answer

To get your Google review link, find your business’s Place ID with Google’s Place ID Finder and add it to the end of https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid= or copy the short link Google gives you under “Ask for reviews” in your Business Profile. The link opens your review box directly. This free tool builds it and a QR code for you.

Customers leave more reviews when one tap opens the review box. Paste your Place ID or Google’s short review link and get a link to text, email or print, plus a QR code.

Your business

Find your Place ID with Google’s Place ID Finder (opens in a new tab): search your business name and copy the ID. Or paste the review link from your Business Profile’s “Ask for reviews”.

Your review link

Paste your Place ID or link and choose “Make my review link”. Your link and a QR code to print show up here.

How it works

Google gives every business a Place ID. A link built from it opens your Business Profile with the “Rate and review” box already open, so the customer doesn’t have to search for you first.

  1. Find your Place ID with Google’s Place ID Finder (search your business name), or copy the review link from your Business Profile under “Ask for reviews”.
  2. Paste it above and choose “Make my review link”.
  3. Copy the link into a text or email, and download the QR code for invoices, leave-behind cards and the truck.

Everything happens in your browser. We don’t see or store your Place ID or link. Next, use the review request templates to ask for the review.

Common questions

How do I get my Google review link?
Either copy it from your Business Profile (choose “Ask for reviews” and copy the short link), or find your Place ID with Google’s Place ID Finder and add it to https://search.google.com/local/writereview?placeid= This tool builds the link and a QR code from either one.
How do I find my Google Place ID?
Open Google’s Place ID Finder, type your business name as it appears on Google Maps, and pick it from the list. The Place ID shows under the name and usually starts with “ChIJ”.
Is there an easier way to get my review link?
Yes. Signed in to your Business Profile, choose “Ask for reviews” (or “Get more reviews”) and copy the short link Google gives you. Paste it here to get a QR code for it.
Does the link expire?
No. It works as long as your Business Profile exists. If you ever move or merge profiles, make a new link.
Can I offer a discount for a review?
No. Google’s policies don’t allow offering money, discounts or gifts for reviews, or asking only customers you expect to be happy. Ask every customer the same way.
What size should I print the QR code?
At least 2 cm (about ¾ inch) wide on paper, larger on a truck or sign. Test it with your own phone before you print a batch.
