Employee schedule template: a week of shifts on one page
The short answer
A weekly schedule lists each person’s shifts for each day. Add your team, type their hours for Monday through Sunday, and print it or save the PDF to post or text around. Publish it as early as you can, keep a copy of each week, and check the total hours with the time card calculator so overtime doesn’t surprise you.
For a small team that doesn’t need scheduling software yet. Write the week once, and print or send it.
Nothing is saved: print it or save the PDF before you close this page.

How it works
Keep it simple
- Publish the schedule on the same day every week.
- Say how swaps work: who has to approve one, and how far ahead.
- Keep old schedules. They’re useful when questions about hours come up.
- Check for overtime before you post it, using the overtime calculator.
Some cities and states have rules on advance notice for schedules, and on breaks. Check yours. Once the week is done, the time card calculator adds up what each person really worked.
